Desander and desilter application for well drilling

To satisfy the demand of processing the whole drilling fluid, the desander and desilter must be composed of a few hydrocyclone cones. To ensure the hydrocyclones can work normally, the liquid inlet pressure must be kept in the scope of 0.25~0.35Mpa.

 

Because of the desilter cone is much, and the pipeline is long, the liquid inlet pressure should take larger value; desander cone is little, and the pipeline is short, so the liquid inlet pressure should take smaller value. The liquid inlet pressure is mainly depends on the centrifugal pump match is whether reasonable or not, thus the choice of centrifugal pump is important. The centrifugal pump head is about 40mH2O, if the discharge capacity can equal to the marked handling capacity of desander and desilter, it will satisfy the using demand.

 

About the using time, the desander and desilter have no strict boundary. Generally, when drilling the shallow stratum and soft formation, the content of larger particles in drilling fluid is high, thus the desander and desilter must be used at the same time; when drilling deep stratum and hard formation, if we use the fine mesh shale shaker, we can directly use the desilter to process drilling fluid, it is very economic.
