The effect of drilling fluid solid phase to drilling speed

Supposing, when water the rotate speed is 100%, solid phase content is creasing to 7%, drilling speed is decreasing to 50%, it is half of water in drilling rate.

In different range of solid phase content, Drilling rate with solid content reduced and rising amplitude different

When the content of drilling fluid is less than 7%, drilling speed is increasing very quick, but exceed 7%, decreasing solid phase has not function to increasing drilling speed.

The diameter is less than 1um particles is the max influence to drilling speed.

By experiment, the influence of the diameter is less than 1um particle is 12 times of the diameter is less than 1um particles. So the size of particles is less than 1 colloid in drilling fluid more. Drilling rate decline rate more big.

The content of solid phase is big in drilling fluid can produce some damages.

It is make the density of drilling fluid is increasing, decreasing drilling speed and shortening drilling head life time.

It is make filter cake thickening and loose texture, friction coefficient is tall, leading to lifting drilling meet resisting.

San –carrying capacity is high, severe wear drilling head, drilling machine and mechanical equipment, make drilling machine can’t work smooth.
