Use and maintenance of drilling fluid cleaner


1. Instructions

a. The correct installation and usage of the multifunctional hydrocyclone cleaner can effectively wipe off the harmful solid phase in drilling fluid, control the viscosity of drilling fluid and recover the useful liquid phase.

It has important significance to extend the cleaner life and lighten the labour intensity of workers.

b. After installing the multifunctional hydrocyclone cleaner on the shale shaker, put the equipments on 1st or 2nd drilling fluid tank.

c.The drilling fluid must be disposed by the shale shaker before it comes into the cleaner. Pluging in, when the motor start, the direction of rotation must be consistent with the direction signed on the belt shield.

d. At the very start, idling the shale shaker to check whether the equipment is OK, if there is anything abnormal, stop the shaker timely to examine and repair.

e.Tightening the shaker screen.First of all to tension the shaker screen, pressing the tensioning bolts, testing the screen by hands, if the degree of tightness is suited, try to run 2 to 3 min, at this time, the screen should not break away from the adhesive tape, then compact each bolt properly and check the tentioning springs , the length should be the same.

f. If the accumulated sand on the screen need to be cleaned when running, do not use the hard stuff(like spade..) to paddle and scrape the screen to avoid the damage.

g. Flush the screen when start to use, especially when the viscosity of drilling fluid is high, otherwise, the viscous things and silver sand detained on the screen will plug up the mesh, and affect the normal usage of the shaker screen.

h. When stop the cleaner, the sand pump should be stopped firstly to make shale shaker idling for 3~5min, and flush the screen timely to keep it clean, then stop the shale shaker.

i. Filling butter once to the bearing of the exciter at regular time everyday to avoid a early damage from the butter shortage of the bearing.

j. When transfered by the hoisting machine, do not put the hard stuff on the screen or tread on the screen.

k. Preventing the sundries entrying into the swirler to block working passageway and destroy the swirler.

l. The aerial drainage groove and baseboard at the bottom of shale shaker should be flushed frequently to avoid begriming.

m.The choise of sieve mesh number. The choise of different mesh number screen must be accordling to the different situation of stratum and performance of the drilling fluid. When the drilling fluid's viscosity is high, the volume of sand is large, the screen with lesser mesh should be chosen,otherwise, the higher quantity mesh screen should be chosen. When the drlling fluid 's flow length rate on the screen is around 70%, the function of the shale shaker will be given full play, and it is in favour of chip removal and extending the life of the screen.

n. When use the cleaner, firstly, start the small mesh shale shaker, then start the sand pump. When stop the cleaner, the sand pump must be stopped firstly and then stop the small mesh shale shaker.

o. The usage of discharging pipes
The usage of overflow pipe. When the feed liquid pressure of sand pump is equal to rated pressure, close a little of the valve on the overflow pipe to make the pressure value be 0.01~0.03Mpa, at this time, the bottom flow hole will clear most of sand and coarse slurry in the drilling fluid. When the feed liquid pressure is below rated pressure, adjust the valve on the overflow pipe to make the pressure to 0.02~0.05Mpa, the bottom flow hole will recover regular work.

2. Maintenance

a.Generally, when the total operation time is about 500h, the medium maintenance should be proceeded. The main points are lubricating the rotating parts, tensioning the fastening pieces and changing the invalid parts.

b. When the total operation time is 4000h, the overhaul should be proceeded. The main points are comprehensive checking of the cleaner, changing the cone tank, checking the motor and electrical equipment insulativity, lubricating or tensioning the relative parts and japanning antiseptic treatment, etc.
